There are also some command line options which may be useful. To enable the firewall with daemon supervision:
linuxconf --modulemain inetdconf --firewall enable
linuxconf --update
To stop the firewall (and the daemon):
linuxconf --modulemain inetdconf --firewall disable
linuxconf --update
