2.1 Highlights

• Update the primary and reverse mapping zone. Let you pick the proper reverse if two entries are sharing the same IP.
• Configure pretty much everything, including TTLs and ACLs.
• Find available IPs (not used in the DNS) for various IP range. See configure IP allocation space in the menu.

2.2 Command lines

The module has extensive command line to add, modify and delete both primary domains and secondaries. "/sbin/dnsconf --help" will show you the various command options avaiable.

2.3 Virtual registry

The module implements extensive support for the virtual registry. You can configure with it pretty much everything you can do from the interactive dialog.

Check out "/sbin/vregistry --list" for the following variables:

• dnsconf.*
• primary.*
• secondary.*

2.4 Privileges

None so far.

2.5 Inter-module API

A complete API is provided so other module may efficiently probe and update the DNS. The dhcpd module uses this to update the DNS in a secure way from the DHCP lease.

2.6 Profiles

DNS configuration are owned by the dnsserv profile.
