/proc/ksyms 11.. PPuurrppoossee /proc/ksyms is a virtual file used to extract the kernel symbols needed to dynamically link kernel modules. This file is of little use to end users or even to many administrators. It lets _L_i_n_u_x_c_o_n_f determine if the kernel is capable of loading modules. If this file is available, Linuxconf will make sure that the module system is properly initialized.
