/proc/ksyms is a virtual file used to extract
the kernel symbols needed to dynamically link kernel
modules.
This file is of little use to end users or even to many administrators. It lets Linuxconf determine if the kernel is capable of loading modules.
If this file is available, Linuxconf will make sure that the module system is properly initialized.
