/etc/networks file
Introduction
In the same way it is possible to provide names for machines, it is
possible to provide names for networks. This is useful when setting
other configurations. It allows you to refer to a network by name
instead of number. Different tools such as netstat will translate an IP network number to a name using this file.
You will want to use network names in the NFS server configuration
for one. This allows you to specify a set of options for a complete
network in one step.
